Apple juice helps with mood swings in the course of Alzheimer's disease.

(June 16, 2010) According to a study by the "University of Massachusetts-Lowell", apple juice can be helpful for mood swings in Alzheimer's patients. According to the study results published in the science magazine "American Journal of Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementias", two glasses of apple juice a day are enough to prevent mood swings in patients with Alzheimer's.

In the course of the study, the subjects drank two glasses of apple juice per day over a period of one month. Based on the results, it was possible to evaluate that certain psychological mood swings could be alleviated. In this way, improvements in fears, restlessness and delusions could be achieved by drinking apple juice. The study leader, Ruth Remington, explained that the results show that fruit and vegetable juices can delay the onset and the "progression of Alzheimer's disease". Similar observations have been made in previous studies. It shows once again what power nature can develop with simple means for diseases. (sb)
